My family and I visited Whytheville, Virginia Sunday the 31st of August 2014. Upon entering the restaurant,, it was dank and dirty, but because it was recommended by the Manager of the Hampton Inn, we decided to stay and give it a try, plus the hour was late, and we were tired from driving from Charleston, SC. We ordered drinks, and the glasses that the drinks were served in were inappropriate. The drinks were terrible, the person mixing the drinks was also the person making the sushi, no bar tending exprience. They only had 2 martini glasses and as soon as they were emptied they were confiscated. I ordered a Cosmopolitan which was served in a juice glass, not the right ingredients and too much Vodka. the water glasses were of so many different sizes. Now getting to the food, we all ordered Hibachi grill, the cook was very inexperienced, he kept dropping his utensils. Three of the people in our party ordered salmon, it was spoiled, the ones that ordered chicken it was overcooked, and the veggies that accompained the stir fry were old tasting. I have eaten at several Japanese Hibachi grill restaurants and this one was the worse. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one. The server was non-caring of his customers (us) and thought that our complaints were a joke as I asked to speak to the Manager. In my opinion this restaurant should be inspected by the Virginia Health Department and either brought up to health regulations and standard restaurant requirements or shut down. The staff could barely speak Engish and were unable to communicate effectively with the customers. I don't know what the people in Wytheville are use to, but that place was really not for human consumption.
