We were super excited to try joes tavern! We loved Curry Patta and were really looking forward to some yummy food. We ordered online a few weeks after they opened and arrived at the correct time to find the doors locked. We tried to call to get in to the building to pick up our food and no one picked up the phone. A few rings later and we were able to get in to pick up our takeout. With no explanation our order was several dollars more than we were told over the phone so we paid card since we had brought exact cash. The mozzarella sticks were terrible. $45 later for two sandwiches and mozzarella sticks and we were left hungry because our food was absolutely inedible. No marinara, a thick and strange tasting breading with a weird texture and consistency, and the inside cheese was not melted at all. The burger, The Helderburger, was missing cheese and tomato and the patty was thick dry and over cooked with a super soggy bun. The Ruben was also incredibly soggy and missing sauerkraut. The fries for both sandwiches were so strangely seasoned and thick. Neither of us are picky eaters and these are staple foods and we didn't eat anything past our disappointing taste test. I'd love to try them again but honestly don't want to frustratingly waste the money.

I was there for a Kiwanis meeting and had a bowl of the cauliflower cheddar soup. OMG!!!!! It was to die for. Loved it. Need the recipe please!!!!

They are a great family restaurant with monthly specials to keep things interesting. Am so glad they're in our neighborhood. The staff is very personable as well.
