I used to love going to La Bamba in this area, but now it's turned into Lupita's, a Mexican/American grocery store with a small restaurant in the back. On weekends, they offer barbacoa and menudo, along with other special dishes not typically on the menu, but I missed out on trying them when I visited on a Sunday evening. Despite being a total gringo when it comes to Mexican food, I found their dishes quite good, although I can't say how they compare to the legendary burritos from La Bamba. The burrito here is massive and reminds me of the first time my friends introduced me to this place after moving to the area, and cutting it in half really does make it easier to handle and enjoy with extra sauce. Overall, I'd give Lupita's 4 stars for being affordable, interesting, satisfying, and customizable to your taste preferences. I only wish they had a branch in St. Louis for when I'm craving a big burrito fix.

I hate when they charge extra when you use credit card or debit card
