In the past I had been there a few times for quick drinksand recently decided togive it a shot fordinner on a Saturday night withsome friends.We were all disappointed.Although theplace is beautiful,the dinner menu is limited and grossly overpriced for the items,and the amount of food on the plate.We wanted to try the brick oven pizza but were told that they don't serve pizza until after 11pm.It was early so we were forced to order from thedinner menu.There were a few selections for appetizers,nothing great,soa friend and I decided to sharethe hot appetizer for 2.There was barely enough food for one on that plate let alone 2.It came with2 tiny rice balls,2 baby clams,2 chicken wings from the tiniest chickens ever,2 small eggplant rollatini,and it was priced over $18. It's a good thing they put a lot of bread on the table because we needed something to fill us up,as theappetizer wasnot going to do it,but thebread was served hard and cold,with hard cold butter.Qualityof the food was decent,and tasted ok,but portions for main courses were so small,I thought they were bringing me a second appetizer when it finally came to me.I ordered a mixed seafood pasta dish that was supposed to have mussels,clams,calamari andshrimp.It came with a small portion of pasta,(not entree size)3 shrimp,each about 1/2 oz,the mussel shells were empty,2 tiny clams,and I didn't know there was calamari in it until I got to thebottom of the plate tofind tiny calamari ringsmelted in the bottom of the dish. I believe I paid over $25 for it, which is a butt load of cash for nothing in the plate.My friendsplates were ok,but the sides were boring and small,and the mozzarellaon top of one friend's chicken parm was practically burned.We didn't send it back because the appetizers were so small,and after waiting a long time for the food to come out,we were hungry so we just ate it.We didn't orderdessert,because we saw acouple of them comeout to other tablesand were not impressed. One looked like a hard brownie with ice cream on top.The DJ had started and we wanted to party so we ordered a fewdrinks and stayed at our table,which was on what turned into a dance area.It was fine at first but the crowd began to build and was gettingcrunched and unruly,and some people got very loud and out ofcontrol.The drinks were ok,but if you don't ask for premium liquor, you get whatever crap is under the bar. And,if you do order good booze, theycharge extra for it, which is ludicrous, when theprice range is between $10 - $12 per drink,alreadyhigh for Brooklyn,especiallythat neighborhood.The DJ came on and started toplay music.He stared with slow music like Frank Sinatra,and Bobby Darin,and got a few older couples on the dance floor,and they seemed to enjoy it.By this time,thecrowd was changingand the dinner crowd turned into a partycrowd, people drinking and having fun by the bar.The music changed too,but not for the better.I had never stayed long before,onlymeeting a friend fora drink beforeheading outto somewhere else,so I didn't know what to expect.The DJ was playing old 70's dance music,which was ok,and people started dancing,including myself and my friends.I was hoping there would be some progression throughall the years of great dance music thereis out there,but the musicnever got out of that 70's disco era and though the DJ mixed in a couple of newer dance tunes,he was unable to keep the floor filled,with people actually scattering like cockroaches in the light when he would cut off a good song right in the middle,with no mix in,and go back to the oldcrap he wasplaying.We tried several times to dance,but some stuff was so old and obscure,that by1:30 AM we walked off an almostempty dance floor in frustration,paid our bill,which was through the nose for the unremarkable food,drinks andservice,and we left.No dance floor should be empty by that time on a Saturday night,unless the DJ really sucks.And this DJ REALLY SUCKED.People want to party and have a good time,and a good DJ plays for all his clientele,not just people who only remember the stuff from 40years ago.If I wanted to dance to old music,I would stay home and play my records,which are much better than anything he was playing.He really needs to update his playlist or they need to hire a better DJ.One that can keep a dance floor filled for more than 5 minutes at a time,or I fear that any after dinner activity they have will be gone.It's really too bad,because I see a lot of potentialin this place, but I'm not sure they aregoing to make it.I hope management comes to their senses,and rethinks their plan for this establishment,as it could be a lot better.Maybe a more diverse,less expensive menu,that could draw a weeknight crowd.And a better DJ on a Saturday night to wake people up,not put them to sleep.I have passed there since then during the week,and have noticed theyareonly open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.I guess people won't pay $$200.00 for dinner on a Tuesday night.Good Luck Aqua Blu,you'll need it.

We had wanted to try the brick oven pizza but were informed that they don't serve pizza until after 11pm, and it was early in the evening so we were forced to order from the dinner menu. There were a few selections for appetizers, nothing that great, so a friend and I had decided to share the hot appetizer plate for 2. Well there was barely enough food for one on that plate let alone 2. Always a great time! Food is terrific, always weekend specials.
The music and entertainment is the best!
