During a recent trip to Half Moon Bay, I discovered Gherkins Sandwich Shop and was thrilled by their customizable options, especially since many sandwiches can be made vegetarian by swapping proteins for tofu. I tried the Cal Fire sandwich with tofu, honey mustard, avocado, and Swiss cheese, and loved the addition of gherkins, though the cubed tofu made it a bit messy to eat. The sandwiches were huge and flavorful, perfect for sharing, and the friendly staff and quick service made the experience even better, though I wish the location was closer to home.
