Not sure if I could give no stars but if I could I would. Went there on Columbus Day weekend with party of five. A person in the party had recommended it and was later sorry she had. Service was slow from the start and grew to be abominable as the meal wore on. The place was only half full so the slow service was difficult to reconcile. We ordered nachos with chicken and they inexplicably forgot the chicken. The nacho toppings were scant .. Which is a sin in where pub food is concerned. The burgers were undersized, literally the size of a kid's burger at a fast food place. One burger, which was ordered med-rare arrived DANGEROUSLY undercook. My daughter had ordered ice tea and had to ask FOUR times for sweetener ... I was beginning to think our waitress had a learning disability. Not unexpectedly they got the food order wrong ... One person got the wrong flavor fries ...the correct fries had to be taken "to go" as they did not arrive until a half-hour later when our meal was mercifully complete. Our waitress was absent during the entire meal so getting extra napkins was impossible. There was no synchronicity amongst the staff and nobody remotely concerned about the customer experience. Finally I asked to speak to the manager .. Nobody appeared .. I asked again 15 minutes later ... I was under the impression they were drawing straws in the kitchen to decide who would be the manager. Finally an "Asst. Manager" appeared who looked like just another waiter. I detailed all the mistakes that had been made he appeared non-pulsed (possibly catatonic) and said he would comp the drinks .. Big deal. I asked for the owners name so I could call him the next day and tell him how terrible his staff had performed. The supposed Asst. Manager told me he could not give me the owners name. I told him the owners name was a matter of public record, he seemed confused. I asked him if the the owner was a CIA operative and he seemed more confused. Not giving the name of a waitress to a leering customer is understandable, however withholding the name of the owner of the establishment from a dissatisfied customer wishing to express his dissatisfaction is ridiculous. Finally our waitress, who had been missing for 40 minutes reappeared ... Possibly after escaping her kidnappers ... She apologized and said she was "new" despite the fact that a member of our party had seen her working there weeks prior. If owner of the High Horse thinks selling micro-brews and burgers in a college town is a license to print money he may be in for a rude awakening. There was a good reason his restaurant was half empty while other places in town had folks three deep at the bar on this busy Autumn weekend. Avoid this place at all costs.
