Crossing the bridge into East Dubuque, Illinois, you'll find Mulgrew's, where the long bar stretches almost as far as their famous foot-long chili dog-steamy, messy, and topped with cheese and onions that'll make you reach for a fork and plenty of napkins. The friendly bartender whips up your order right before your eyes, and while the Tom and Jerry holiday drink might not win any awards, the lively atmosphere and historic vibe of this tiny, once "Sin Street" town make it a memorable pit stop for anyone craving a taste of Americana and a good laugh.
