The food at Shady Bend exceeded my expectations, with perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs, crispy bacon, and delicious chicken fried steak, all served with excellent service in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The historical building's charm and the homemade all-you-can-eat salad bar add to the experience, making it a memorable dining option I plan to return to.

Just ate at the Shady Bend, with a group of 14. Services was excellent. Kept the breakfast buffet full. A old fashion family cafe. Something we need more of.

Had the chicken fried chicken it was the best I have ever had. For dessert I had the rice pudding. It was the best. Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful. This is the best restaurant in Grand Island in my IMO. Reminds me of cafe's we had around in the 50's. Can not recommend any other place to eat in Grand Island , Ne. The chicken fried chicken was a special not on the menu. Will continue to eat there as often as possible and if I have a bad meal I will let you know. No fear of that happening.
