Growing up around here, La Hiro has always been the spot my sister insists on for sushi takeout, and I can see why-their spicy tuna rolls blew me away with fresh, perfectly proportioned chunks of tuna and just the right kick of mayo, unlike any mushy rolls I've had before. While the spider roll was a bit too salty for my taste, everything else from the eel nigiri to the miso soup and chicken teriyaki hits the mark with authentic flavors you rarely find outside bigger cities. The husband-and-wife team runs a tidy, welcoming place with thoughtful service, and their homemade desserts, especially the matcha cake, are a sweet finish I'm eager to enjoy again when dining in becomes an option.

My sister's favorite spot for sushi in Cincy is where we always go for takeout, bringing it back home to enjoy. We ordered a variety of rolls, with the spicy tuna roll being the standout - a strip of tuna with spicy mayo, a refreshing change from the usual mushy filling. The only downside was the spider roll being overly salty, but it wouldn't deter me from going back for more of their amazing and fresh sushi.
