I spent a summer night in a spacious two-bathroom suite at an older hotel with a comfy bed and stunning bathrooms, though the view was, let's say, less than inspiring-hello, empty destroyed hotel next door! Valet parking set me back $42 a night, which wasn't mentioned clearly during booking, but it saved me from navigating downtown's sketchy streets filled with panhandlers and a large homeless encampment nearby. The staff were absolute stars, from valet to front desk, making the whole stay feel warm and welcoming, plus the walk to Minute Maid Park was a nice little bonus.

The hotel does not offer attached parking, so we had to pay $30 to park in the lot behind the building. During our overnight stay in the summer, we chose the 2-bathroom suite, which was spacious and comfortable. Despite the hotel's age and our less-than-ideal view of a nearby empty building, the friendly staff, comfortable amenities, and convenient location made our stay enjoyable.
