When I tip my normal $20 on a $50 meal I don't expect it to sit on the table until the bus boy picks it up; I actually like to be acknowledged for my generosity. My money is tight but I lived off tips as a bartender and then a cab driver for the last 35 years before I retired so like to express my appreciation. Also, it took forever for the waitress to refill my coffee. While their portions were large, there are too many places with better service to consider going back.
