It has a nice, cozy atmosphere, and the food is always good. I recently stopped in, and trust me, it was worth it.
I order the shrimp po-boy. I have never eaten it before at the Shrimp Basket, so I was curious to see just what it would taste like. I usually order the shrimp basket, but I decided to give the po-boy a try. Needless to say, I received a large portion. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, and my shrimp was just the way I like them. I also had some fried pickles. OMG! They are the best. I just have to stop in at the Shrimp Basket for their fried pickles. They serve them with a sauce that I would describe as ranch (I'm not quite sure since I didn't ask), and it only adds to their delicious taste.
My friend ordered a special platter that was a combination of oysters, crab cake, and fries. Of course, I ate off of his plate too. He was sweet enough to let me. Again, everything was delicious.
The waitress was nice"¦a little shy, but nice. The manager on duty even came by the table to check on us. Simply awesome service. The sites general manager is William Greenfield.
If you are in the Hattiesburg area, don't hesitate to stop by. They have great lunchtime specials. Can't wait to go back!
