Craving delicious BBQ after finding all other joints closed in Canton, I was pleasantly surprised by the mouthwatering brisket and sausage at Soulman's. The spicy potatoes, baked mac n cheese, and friendly staff made the dining experience truly satisfying, topped off with a delightful ice cream treat on the way out.

The staff has changed. For 20 years I would have given the employees and food 5 stars. This past year the food is overcooked, dry and surly like their new employees. Two occasions sliced brisket was sliced like pulled pork. Cut with the grain into flat, stringy planks instead of cut against the grain. I could not even chew it up. I gave up. For 20 years the food was excellently cooked, prepared and would melt in your mouth. No one trained these employees and owner or they said they understood but really didn't. . So sad. I am not the only one Not Ever Going Back.

I must say I am in disbelief still; I have been eating at Soulman's since the early 80's. Never, not once, have I had an experience as I had today in Terrell. After spending about $30, at the drive thru window I asked for a glass of water, it was very humid today. The woman comes to the window and says, "We charge for the cup and it will be $1.99. I declined the water! While I do "get it" if a customer was to come in and order just water, that would be one thing, however, I was a paying customer and this to me is just wrong. I did not say anything to the woman as this was a first trip to Soulman's for my friend who I was treating to the pulled pork, to show off your establishment. When I returned home, I opened my "double-barrel" Chopped meat potato only to find that the potato was half the size of the normal potato's I have always received and to add insult to injury (meat was on the side) it did not even come to the top of the side portions at the top! Next, I open the cheese and it has about 1/4 of a small serving size! Disappointed is not even close to how I feel. That's it for me and the Terrell location, this has NEVER happened in Garland, Rockwall, Lancaster Road, Broadway, Gross Road or any of the other's I commonly frequent. I have always sung their praises, but Terrell has huge thumbs down from me... Was an embarrassment, from the rudeness to the window person on you should really take a strong look at how they are doing things there......
