My son had an issue with his prepaid debit card when attempting to pay for his meal. Funds were there but the card continued to be declined. He called me for assistance as the general manager said she had been advised by her boss to call the police. I offered to give a different card by phone since it was 1000 pm and no way to call the bank to find out the issue. I was told they must have the card in hand for security purposes in order to charge another card. I respectfully tried everything to rectify the situation to prevent a 50 mile round trip to bring another card at now, 1030 pm. However, the management refused all of our attempts to take care of the problem other than involving the police. I made the 50 mile trip to bring another card so Brookhaven police officers could take care of real criminals. I totally understand policies, procedures, and security measures but the management’s unwillingness to try to work with the customer made little sense to me. This was not an attempt to get something for nothing. We were trying to pay for the food that was ordered and eaten. And we did just that.
