I visited a casual Japanese restaurant on a rainy federal holiday afternoon when it was nearly empty, enjoyed a large bowl of spicy garlic tonkotsu ramen with tender pork and fresh sushi including a spicy tuna roll, appreciated the friendly and attentive service that even included a thoughtful gesture of fresh mango for a minor order delay, found the broth less greasy than other East Bay ramen options though the noodles seemed store-bought rather than hand-pulled, liked the crispy tempura veggies despite wishing for more batter, and overall found the food delicious, the prices reasonable, and the ambiance spacious and cute, making me eager to return and try more dishes.
