Small family businesses in border towns often offer authentic and flavorful food experiences, like the fresh chicharrones I enjoyed alongside fresh bread and cheese from a nearby dairy. The tortillas here are soft, chewy, and perfectly seasoned, completely changing my perspective on what a burrito can be, especially since I didn't grow up with Mexican cuisine. Despite occasional language barriers and the need for cash payments, the friendly staff and delicious menu items, including the chili relleno and lengua burritos, make each visit worthwhile.
