Chicken fried steak tastes so great. Fries went perfect with it. So many fried options done right.

The chicken fried chicken was amazing! A lot of food for the price. We were a group of 7 and everyone loved the food were seated right away. Service was great as Well! Next time we come that way we will be stopping in to try something else on the menu. Amazing!!

on 2/26/2017, diner at The Barn was alright. Had the chicken fried chicken dinner and my friend had chicken fried steak dinner. The meat was very, very good. The sides, on the other hand, were not as good. Baked potato was slightly warm, it was not completely cooked and the butter would not melt. My friend had mashed potatoes and corn and they were both just slightly warmed. The staff was very good and took good care of us. I was hoping for a better meal after all the rave reviews. It was 4:30 p.m. on a Friday night and maybe they were not properly prepared for the moderate crowd which was in their establishment.

I had heard about the Chicken Fried Steak at The Barn from several friends, and I'm on the road all the time. Happened to be driving through Burrton and decided to give it a try.

Waitstaff is very good, actually everything was very good. I'd rate the chicken fry a 4 out of 5...probably the best I've had in Kansas, but not the best out of the states I travel (Kansas, Colorado and Oklahoma). Very tasty chicken fry, but it failed the "fork test"....I think you should be able to cut it with a fork, which is probably just me.

But I'd order it again the next time through....

The FOOD IS always very tasty and the decor is wonderful.
The Barn is just a few miles from Owl's Corner. This restaurant is just so handy, super great meals, and they don't even care if we have our work clothes on.
Sometimes they have bands scheduled for weekend entertainment.
They have a large banquet room that can the reserved for special occasions.
We try to eat at The Barn at least twice a month!
