Was told carry out order would take 15-20. We waited nearly an hour. When we returned home, one of the brisket orders was nothing but fat. Maybe it was the fact we complained and the manager was sent over? They also forgot to give us any rolls. Overall, not a good experience. Food was pretty good.

If you're just looking for decent BBQ while you're in town, I'm sure Boss Hogg's is fantastic. If, however, you have any sort of questions for the lovely Katrina at the register, just skip on by to the next place.

My husband has an MSG allergy. It's hidden in many foods under many names, so in the 16yrs that we've been together I have learned to ask for ingredient lists before ordering food for him. In 16yrs, I have never had a negative experience until this one.

When I explained to Katrina that my husband has a glutamate allergy and asked to see the ingredients, she was very obviously annoyed. She stated that she cannot do that and she "has to answer this question at least once a week" and she would "just suggest that he doesn't eat". I told her I know it's annoying, but if I could check that would be awesome. I can't order for him without it. In the short time span that we were in the restaurant, she told me (in a very snarky tone) that she was sorry for his "nut allergy" (glutamates, not nuts) and then said they had some "gluten free" items (glutamates, not gluten). Everything she said was in a rude, hateful tone. She informed me that "we just get our items from the grocery store!" and I had to tell her that yes, items in the grocery store have glutamates and I have to check those too. She FINALLY agreed to read the label of one of their store-bought sauces. I said "monosodium glutamate, yeast extracts, torula yeast, lecithins..." She glanced at it and said "it's fine." I asked if I could please look just to make me feel better... yeast extract was on the list. At this point, she was ranting that they are a small family owned business and will not give away their "proprietary blend". Lady, I'm not a Russian spy trying to steal your bbq sauce. I don't care what the ratio of vinegar to sugar is; I just want to know if it contains glutamates.

I'll never be back. I was so livid from this exchange and the way she spoke to me that I was shaking every time I thought about it. Legally, a restaurant with fewer than 20 locations does not have to divulge their ingredients list. However, it has been my experience that small, family-owned businesses are more likely to help me out than chain businesses. I don't care how good the sauce is if they clearly don't care about their customers.
