Not really sure about the bad reviews about an establishment that has been in existence for sixty years and has survived recessions and major competition. I am a regular customer because of the warm friendly staff that have mostly been there for five plus years. Their dedication and loyalty to a restaurant says something about the kind of place the Hill Top is. I have witnessed Christmas parties, wedding parties, and celebrations from the local playhouse done there. The owner is more than generous with his time and money. He had kept food prices very reasonable and has bent over backwards for his customers. If anyone was unsatisfied at the Hill, they probably already had a crappy attitude. As for the decor, you want a fancy bathroom, you will pay for it with fancy prices. I am utterly disgusted by people who say foul things about an establishment that draws so many regulars and does an honest business.

This is almost as bad as eating roaches. Have you used the bathroom? EWW

Service was friendly but slow. It was over 45 minutes until we got our meals. My wife’s fries were cold. I ordered one of the House Specialties Shrimp and Scallops Stir Fry with vegetables $16.95. It had three shrimps and a few pea size bits of scallops. I asked our server if the cook forgot the scallops. The floor manager came over and said the scallops were mixed in, where? At the end of our meal the floor manager asked about our meal and I said it was disappointing and offered my explanation. Our server told us they ran out of scallops and had only put in pieces. It would have been nice to know before ordering. In addition, she said the manager gave us a discount on my meal. The discount was $2.00, Wow! To me it was deceptive service with poor customer service. We will not be back. The Hill Top staff could learn a few tips from watching Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares. They should invite him to help them out.
