We love the Porch but the staff is tiny so expect to be patient if they are busy. Food is terrific and Joe and Ruthie are a delight but this is not a typical "big time" restaurant. If you don't like quirky go somewhere else. But we love the smoked trout, the duck, the crab cakes, the fish - and all of the deserts are fabulous.

DO NOT expect Joe to cook everything that you order....I'm too tired of inconsistent food from the kitchen....too many "surprises"....stick with fries...even the trainees shouldn't be able to screen up frozen fries.lol

Very poor service. We made reservations for 40 people 3 days in advance. We were given a room with not enough tables and chairs and 1 waitress. It took over 2 hours for everone to be served meals, with very little interaction with the 1 waitress during this time. We had to go to the bar for even water refills. Meals are overpriced for the portions. Received the bill and was overcharged. The waitress adjusted the subtotal, but not the tax or gratuity. Bottom line ... if you can't handle a large group then don't accept the reservation. They angered 40 people.
