The chicken and broccoli orders were generous and satisfying, with crispy, flavorful meat that exceeded expectations, and the cheese wontons were so delicious on their own that no sauce was needed. Despite the lunchtime crowd making seating a challenge, the quick service and friendly staff made the experience enjoyable and worth returning to for fresh, tasty Chinese food in Reading Market.

The Reading Market is always bustling at lunchtime, making it a challenge to find a seat, but the Shanghai Gourmet Chinese Restaurant is worth the wait. The menu is concise and well-organized, with options ranging from seafood to noodles. The General Chicken and Crab Rangoon were delectable, and the flavors were rich enough to enjoy without the need for additional sauces.
