Had an 8 person celebration at Sidel's. Ordinary looking on the outside, but the inside is cozy, vibrant and spirited. During our 2 hour dinner, timing between drinks, appetizers and entrees was wonderful and no rush, we were greeted by the Bartender, the Hostess, the Manager and near the end, by the Chef. All were so personable, interesting and tried to make us all feel at ease, as if we were eating in our homes. That was a truly amazing thing to do, but that was overly exceeded by the entrees and specials offered. Everyone raved about their meals, from Double Thick Pork Chop covered with Jack Daniel's Bourbon Sauce to the Sauteed Tender Veal Medallions with Roasted Peppers and Sun Dried Tomatoes to my choice of 'out of this world', Chicken Scarpariello with Hot Sausage.  If you'd enjoy generous portions of superb taste and quality at decent prices mixed with a comfy, hospitable and relaxing atmosphere, give Sidel's a try.

I read a lot of reviews before going to Sidel's, I have to say their "4+" star rating is certainly deserved! We had some dietary restriction and the chef came out to talk to us. Everything was wonderful. The service was attentive, and ... better than many of the local places I have been to lately. We were greeted a minute or two after we arrived, but that gave us a chance to read the menu board. It took a little bit to get drinks, but it was busy. Food was outstanding! Filet cooked perfectly Pittsburg! Just want to say to all those "I will never..." Great food is hard to find, everyone deserves a second chance. It is locally owned and operate, and important to our economy we have this type of business survive. I will return.

How can anybody write a bad review of Sidels? Best food and company Chrissy is the owner and a great waitress.

What can I say about Sidel's Restaurant. Fantastic food, good prices, overall comfy atmosphere, drinks to die for!! And the nicest, warmest staff who are menu experts and seem to be able to give their opinion and offer suggestions from appetizers to desserts. In the age of chain restaurants, this place is a hidden gem!!! Also will cater to gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian options!!

Normally we had good meals and service. What is key here is we never had the owner wait on us...chrissy. we were there on new years eve. She was down right rude and obnoxious to us. Paid exuberant prices. We will not gvo there again. We had been loyal cutomers for years and yes that one night ruined this.she is part owner and should be aware of good customer service

One of the great things about living in NEPA is the availability of good, solid italian dining. There are many small, family-owned restaurants that serve outstanding fare at reasonable prices.

Sidel's is a perfect example, and THE place I recommend to anyone who is looking for excellent food, drink, and service in a casual setting. While the owner/chef Richie serves many traditional italian dishes, he also has the culinary background and experience to offer a huge variety of beef, chicken, pork, and seafood dishes prepared in many styles. His nightly specials board is a testament to this, and he will gladly accommodate personal requests as well. The portion sizes are quite generous (I think the concept of "doggie bag" began at this restaurant), however, he does not sacrifice quality in lieu of the portion size. In other words: You are guaranteed a filling meal that also TASTES fantastic (unlike the various italian chain restaurants out there).

Some mention should also be made of the bar, which is one of the most comfortable and most professionally-staffed in the city. Nightly drink specials are available, and again, the bartenders will accommodate requests (some of which might end up the next nightly special).

Finally, having hosted several parties over the years at Sidels, I will vouch for the banquet services that are available at the N Scranton location (I've not had the opportunity to eat at the Taylor location yet). Their planning services and menu delivery are very well done.

In summary, I'd recommend without reservation, as I always do, Sidel's restaurant in North Scranton for a comfortable, affordable, and enjoyable casual dining experience.
