Thank goodness I didn't read the previous review as we too had our shower here and it was absolutely fabulous. A tea should be an intimate affair and of course, the tables were not all put together. We loved having our guests meet the ones they didn't know. And we didn't have kids at ours and a tearoom and a shower really isn't a venue for children. We also had two guests that didn't RSVP which really wasn't fair to the staff as they had already prepared for our number (that's why you call in a final count) but in all fairness the tearoom rallied with additional food altho not what everyone else got. We found all to be friendly, accomodating, and helpful and the food was great! I guess if you have picky guests, you get a stressed host. But for my money, my vote goes to Simpson House if you want a beautiful place, great food and accomodating staff.

Held a baby shower at this facility. Chose the Simpson House over others because of the facility, and they seemed more accommodating of dietary needs. However, felt the staff was not very friendly. I've been part of many bridal and baby showers, and feel that staff should be accommodating. Whereas, I felt we were "annoying" to the staff. They only set place settings for the number of guests (not on each table) and seemed bothered when guests did not want to sit with others they didn't know, and they had to put more silverware down. Seem bothered that 3 children were present. And one individual showed that did not RSVP and they were not very accommodating regarding an additional plate. They made everything seem like a problem, and added stress on the host.
