The most dirty and flavorless place to dine at, the ambiance does not make up for the sick feeling after eating there. Everything is dirty from their utensils to the plates and glasses that smelled unwashed. The tables were sticky and the food tasted old. I am never going back there.

Don't let the decorations fool you. For the bargain price of $478.00, you can get a seat in the small room off of the bar, then get told you can "walk around " to see the other rooms. Rooms that are so crowded there is no room. You would think with two kids we would be seated in a room with actual Christmas decorations.
The food was mediocre at best. The crab cake was just a pinch large than a quarter. The fried calamari platter had more peppers on it than calamari. The meatballs were cold and drowning in sauce. The mussels were not horrible. We had a filet mignon and ribeye. Hardly any seasoning in either. The ribeye was full of fat. Chicken Parm was cold and not breaded well. The best part was dessert which I'm sure is not made on premise. Please do not waste your money. If you want to see the decorations, go have a drink in the bar, walk around, and go eat elsewhere.

Service…terrible. Waitress was high as a kite. Waited forever for drinks. Waited forever for meal. My pasta dish was ice cold. Never again.

The food is great! The pasta was cooked just as I asked , the stuffed lobster tail was awesome and the steak was juicy and flavorful. Will definitely come again!

What the heck happened to this place? We had a reception here six years ago and it was very elegant, top-notch! We were excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary and go up on the rooftop deck for the first time. I don’t know if this place is trying to find itself or what but it’s like a theme park now, it has life-size piñata‘s and like cheap luau decor upstairs. They had a huge corner fan blasting on me, it was blowing so hard it was shaking the trees and they wouldn’t shut it off so I moved next to my husband which was cool. The food is decent enough but seriously overpriced! Oh watch your step if you go up to the roof dining, there’s a drop at the top and there’s no sign by the way. Overall it’s OK enough but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it, especially not with the way their pricing things. You’re paying for fine dining but you’re definitely not getting it. I hate having to write this, I know everyone’s trying to stay afloat but I’m telling you because you will be shocked if you’re expecting what it used to be.

TOURIST TRAP. I am by no means a fussy diner, I am always willing to give a restaurant a chance to win me over with quality food and service. That being said, Cava's is the first restaurant I've ever left before even putting in a drink order. It was shockingly bad.

My wife and I made reservations on a Friday night with a special notation that this was for our anniversary and we just could not believe how awful this place is. The hostess escorted us to our table at the Harry Potter room, and the first things that jumped out at me were that the lighting is much too dark, it's a gloomy blue haze. Also, the moment you step into the room, the floor feels like a cheap and creaky thin plywood, and the place definitely has some kind of musty smell. Not a good start.

The first table they tried to seat us at was a tiny cheap wobbly table for two on a sloping part of the floor with a giant fake tree practically in my lap. It was also uncomfortably close to another table where other patrons were dining, instantly eliminating any semblance of a "fine dining" experience. When the server finally came by to ask us if we wanted drinks, I politely requested another table and we were re-seated at another tiny cheap wobbly table for two right next to the giant locomotive that houses speakers obnoxiously blaring the Harry Potter soundtrack right in our ears. Needless to say, we left without even ordering drinks and I strongly doubt we will ever return. We instead went to a chain restaurant a little bit down the road and enjoyed more comfortable table and chairs, comparable food at a fraction of the price, better service, illumination, etc.

Everything on the menu at Cava's is $50 or more, but there is zero ambience. There are no dividers to separate patrons and the tables are all uncomfortably close to one another, so you are basically eating in a very dark and weirdly Harry Potter themed cafeteria with blue Christmas lights. If you enjoy paying big bucks to sit in cheap wobbly chairs and eat Italian food right next to total strangers in dark blue gloominess while listening to the Harry Potter soundtrack, then this is the place for you. Who designed this place, anyway? It would be like if Chuck E. Cheese stopped serving pizza and instead had $50 seafood plates.

This is a gimmicky tourist-trap style restaurant that needs to figure out whether they want to be a themed restaurant or fine dining. The menu and the prices suggest fine dining, but the furniture is cheap and uncomfortable, the floor is thin creaky plywood, the tables are too close together, the music is inappropriate, the lighting dreary. If Cava wants to be fine dining, then they need a dining area that is more comfortable and pleasant, better flooring, better illumination, appropriate dining music, etc.

However, if they want to be a themed restaurant, then they need to scrap the menu in favor of something more appropriately themed AND bring down the prices so that the price range is more family friendly and affordable. Trying to be both themed dining and fine dining at the same time just doesn't work, makes for a lousy experience.

Save your money over priced and not good at all. We went for lunch ordered gnocchi was starchy sticky like it was sitting around. Salmon not good, I got jumbo shrimp with risotto gummy again like you made it head of time and sat around umm they were small shrimp you got 4 I ate one and was done. I was okay with four shrimp oh yeah because they were supposed to be jumbo not small LUNCH should not cost 125.00 plus we are sitting near register the total in big freakin numbers were everyone can see it. We brought a family member with us I didn’t want her to see what we spent seriously. Floor unsafe, way to dark as someone said above you had to use your phone to see. The fountain outside come guys clean it would be beautiful it you did something with it. Would not recommend this place. It’s too bad good idea but you need to drop those prices and make better food.

We came here with our kids for Harry Potter. I called in advance to ask about a lunch menu option and was told they have one and the food is the same as on the dinner menu. I guess I assumed lunch size portions with lunch pricing. I booked the reservation. When we arrived we were seated in the worst seat available. This table shouldn’t even exist but clearly the owner only cares about money in his pocket and not his guest experience. The bathroom door would open and blind us with the light. Every guest, wait staff or person coming into the Harry Potter room had to walk past our table practically bumping into us. The floor isn’t real so it dips down when people walk by which was about every 15 seconds. We finally said something after several servers carried trays of dirty dishes over my sons head multiple times. Our seats were moved. I asked about the lunch menu again to our server and she said yes you just order off the dinner menu, which by the way you have to use your phone because they don’t want to wash the menus every time someone uses them. Our food came out and was room temperature. We had to turn our camera flash light on to even see what we were eating because it was so dark. The only redeeming part was our waitress was kind, and attentive. But unfortunately the bill came and there was no lunch pricing, just dinner size portions with the dinner prices. One would think you can order a salad for lunch but the restaurant will charge you a $10 fee for this. I feel robbed and like I flushed $250 down the toilet. We walked away with stories of horror to tell people. Luckily we laugh about it but really wish I read the reviews and cxled this reservation. Save your money and go somewhere else. Reminder, there is a 48 hour cancellation fee for 5 or more people. I think the owner must love himself and believe his location is something special in Southington Ct. It’s more of an embarrassment to our state.

At first we were really excited to come here, we knew we would be paying for the experience. The reataurant is beautifully decorated but DONT STOP and look at the decorations because you'll get run over by staff and they'll look the other way. If youre going to have a place beautifully decorated then you should be a little patient with customers who are trying to enjoy the view. Also, this place is not a good place to bring the children. They dont offer a children's menu to read. Without know any prices, we ordered my 2 year old chicken tenders and fries which came out to $16 for 3 small tenders and a handful of thinly sliced potatoes which was absurd. Overall, the food was ok at best. Nothing to rave about. Took a very long time to come out. Pretty sure our server was trying to avoid our table the entire time we were there. Dont think we would come here again.

My family went to dinner at Cava last Thursday 12/10, for my adult son’s birthday. It was very different from our first experience in October. The service, room, and food were not optimal.

First, we were seated in the new room, tucked into a corner table. Yes, the room was beautifully decorated, but we were invisible to our waiter! Before long, it was apparent that there was little if any ventilation in this dimly lit dining room. The whole experience lasted over two hours and we couldn’t wait to leave!

We waited a very long time ( more than 20 minutes) before bread was delivered to our table. When the salads arrived, we asked about the bread. The waited was inattentive and didn’t even notice that the bread hadn’t been delivered to us. After the salads and bread, dinner was finally served. Again, the wait between courses was inexcusable and left us feeling frustrated.

We spent over two hours in a stifling hot dining room. The temperature difference between our dining room and others was very noticeable! The overall experience was disappointing and left us feeling regretful on our poor choice in restaurants! The price for mediocre food, poor wait service, and choice of seating was less than ideal. It just wasn’t worth it.

Food was definitely not fine dining quality that matched the fine dining price. Service was inconsistent and exhausting. The waitress was giving me and my party of 7 anxiety. The only good food was the simple salads, bread and desserts. That’s a terrible thing to have to say. Very concerned there’s not an actual chef in the kitchen. The food was line cook quality at best.

Worst dining experience by far. $55 steak that tasted like leather. I only ate a bite and they wouldn't take it off the bill. Very rude manager. Spent $200. I would have had better food and service at am Applebee's.

This place is a joke supose to be high class plastic water glasses. The food was over cooked and not near enough to feed a small person. I have been to some high class places and this is not one. Would not waste my time or $$$$ here again.

I just hosted my parents 50th anniversary party there in one of their private rooms and from the food to the service everything was top notch. I would definitely host another party there!
