This neighborhood has amazing food that always impresses my guests when they visit. I was in Birmingham for about 12 hours and decided to try the chocolate chess pie from Marta's Bakery, which is super affordable. After waiting until I got home to dig in, I can honestly say it's incredible-like a chocolate custard that just melts in your mouth! Plus, Marta is such a sweetheart.

I recently visited a bakery in Birmingham that serves the most amazing chocolate chess pie. The filling was like a chocolate custard and simply melted in my mouth. I highly recommend trying out Marta's Bakery if you're passing through Alabama - the pies, cakes, and cheese straws are absolutely delicious! And Marta herself is the friendliest person you'll meet!
