I recently had a delightful dining experience at Lizard's Thicket in Cayce, SC, and I must say the Southern cooking there is reminiscent of homemade meals from my grandmother. The Monday special of Chicken and Dumplings with sides like black-eyed peas and cornbread truly made my taste buds dance with joy. The atmosphere may not be fancy, but the prices are reasonable, and the food is consistently delicious - definitely a top choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the area.
