I have lived here for 4 years and still on a mission to find true soul food in Charleston. Several places of the 130 or so I have tried, and this is not one of them. The cabbage was not fresh and was sweetened with something, I presume sugar. The cornbread was like sponge cake, also sweetened. The 2 small air conditioners were working very hard to keep up with the very small space you were cramped into. If the ladies were not too busy snacking themselves they would have realized the couple in the back corner not being served at all. A glass of water was all one guest wanted and he was told on 3 separate occassions to hold on (baby) someone will be with you soon. After 15 more minutes of not being noticed, they walked out. There are only 7 tables and many mixed chairs including an old office chair if you like adjusting to your food...I can't recomend this place to my enemy.....
