During my long drive from Richmond to Charleston, I stopped at Maryland Fried Chicken for some Southern comfort. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy, making the detour worthwhile, despite the neighborhood's odd vibe.

On a long drive from Richmond to Charleston, my Southern food cravings led me to Maryland Fried Chicken in Florence, a town that felt like a time warp mixed with a few nice neighborhoods - quite a strange place. Despite the bleak interior, the chicken and fried flounder with shrimp were surprisingly delicious, although the tiny shrimp could have skipped the fryer. Eating my meal in the car in a supermarket parking lot added a touch of quirkiness to the experience, making it memorable despite not planning a return to Florence anytime soon.

The best fried chicken that I have ever put in my mouth. I was traveling through the state and saw the store so I stopped in to get what I thought was ordinary fried chicken but I was surprised. It was great and the staff was friendly an welcoming.

Always a great place to pick up some good food.
I have been here so many times I cannot count and if you are nice to people they are always nice to you.
Be good to people and they will be good to you.

Been eating there for years...mostly drive thru. Pretty much have stopped going there over the last couple of years. The food has gone from being great to dried out and hard in the evenings. Service within an hour of closing REALLY SUCKS. For some time now we have gotten crappy attitudes, rudeness, and routinely excuses of being out of their featured items as early as 45 minutes before closing. Several times we came home with dried out, shrived up, over cooked chicken and hush puppies and not enough gravy for even one serving. Miss the service and food quality from the old days.

Went to order food at 8:30 after they said , they didn't close until 9:00pm. No answer at 8:28 and they were not busy. The place sucks..... They deserve - 0

I visit Maryland's Chicken at least two to three times a month. I love the seasoning that is put into the chicken. That is extremely important. I also enjoy the fries and hush puppies. Keep it up Marylands you know how to cook an enjoyable meal!
