While staying in Custer, SD, decided to stop at a little cafe on the main drag. Our first clue we should of turned around and left was-when you walk in the door...look across to the wall and you will see a "LOCALS ONLY" sign! Well, apparently from the service we were greeted with, this dive meant it! Our waitress was snotty, rude and displayed an attitude towards us as if we just kicked her dog or something! Out 2 daughters (age 6 and 7) wanted to sit at the next table to us and our waitress raised her voice at us saying,"Whats the problem- I need this table!?!" (NOTE-there were several open tables around us, in her section, they weren't busy, and there was a whole other dining room completely open...It was a Monday,last week of May when tourist season hasn't even started yet, so we can't figure out why she needed this precious table so badly!) Also it should be noted that our daughters were completely on their best behavior, so it wasn't an issue of bratty kids! The cafe is decorated with biker stuff and Betty Boop. The food was nothing special. Not bad, Not good. JUST REMEMBER-"LOCALS ONLY"! Pass this place by! There is a Pizza place down the street that makes fabulous homemade pizzas and they treat their customers properly! Its in an old Opera House and very good!
