I have enjoyed the Food and Service here for many years...even before they moved from Downtown Clinton and changed the name from El Pavo Real. Their creamy melted cheese sauce is the best! Plus, I like going to a family operated business.

Fantastic food and service. Very clean family restaurant. I think i have found the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Knoxville area.

04/27/2012 - the chicken pu-ka-dillas and chicken far-ti-tas are GROSS
on april 23rd, my friend and i ate there. we had the chicken pu-ka-dillas and the chicken far-ti-tas. a few hours later, we were submitting offerings to the porcelain god. this lasted for 2 days in my case. we're still weak and barely able to eat. my friend missed time from work. today we took our reciept back to the restaurant, we asked for the manager, we explained very quietly and politely that we wanted a refund for the meal because the meal had made us sick. he offered to give us a 50% refund at first. then he backed out of that and refused to refund our money at all, stating " no one else has complained " - my friend asked him again " so you think we should have to pay for a meal that made us sick for 2 days ? " he smugly shook his head YES. so all we can tell ya is if you like to puke and crap for 2 days straight and miss time from work, this is the place for you, just be aware that older adults and small children may not have the immune system required to battle food poisoning, food poisoning can KILL. if you insist on eating in this RAT HOLE, best of luck. you'll need it.

If Los Caballeros was Rose Niland telling a St. Olaf Story, and I was Dorothy, I would roll up a newspaper and bob this restaurant right on the head. My friend and I ate there yesterday, I had chicken fajitas, my friend had chicken quesedillas, and about 4 hours later, we began to puke and crap uncontrollably. I think we got food poisoning there. If you eat there, you could get very ill. As soon as I recuperate, I am taking my reciept to Los Caballeros and demanding a REFUND.

Their food is pretty decent and the staff is extremely friendly. But every time i eat here it makes my stomach hurt very bad so i cant eat it much. I don't know what it is making my stomach hurt but other Mexican restaurants don't do me that way. Its very strange. But its a decent Mexican restaurant with friendly staff.

I have eaten there many times and the food is good. However in the past I have seen bugs. The is a back entrance to the kitchen and noticed about five or six roaches going up and down the door. On another visit my girlfriend had eaten about half her food when she found a hair. It turned her stomach so she didn't want it replaced, I was a frequent customer at the time and was upset they still made me pay for her food!!!! I do still eat there every once in a while but not like I used to. Also they don't get the concept of "having it your way" and won't make the food the way your prefer it. So if your ok with getting it exactly the way the menu has it and don't mind a chance of seeing a bug or two then it's the place for you.The food is good enough that I just order mine to go these days and hope for the best when I get it home.

The BEST Mexican around....nothing in Knoxville even compares. We drive from Knoxville when we want Mexican. The staff, the food, the time it takes, everything is just over the top!

Great tasting food, great prices, super friendly staff. I highly doubt the woman below me found a bug in her food, seeing as they have an inspection score of 93. Had she of she would have called the health department, not ranted on the internet.

I use to eat here, and the food was not to bad but recently i was with my family and the food was very bad. I found a Roach in my food!! So if you plan on eating here please check your food before you eat it, but i don't recommend it!

The service and food is always excellent. The owners are very nice friendly people. The best Mexican food we have ever had, including California.

Los Caballeros is my favorite place to eat. It has great food with fast service and reasonable prices.
