I love this bar .Great selection of high gravity beers and the food is outstanding . The best Halibut I've ever, better than I had on fishing trips to Alaska and Nova Scotia ! Friendly bartender and relaxing atmosphere . Blair's steaks are hand cut and aged ,cooked masterfully !

My wife Patricia and I have had the honor to have dined at the Open Door Cafe many times. Best atmosphere in Athens, TN. If you are a couple, come here for a nice romantic setting. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent. The prices compare with places in town like Applebees or Ruby Tuesadays that in my opinion do not have as good of an atmosphere or food. The Open Door Cafe is a must for special events, holidays like Christmas time.
The Open Door Cafe has the BEST PIZZA within 50 + miles of Athens, TN trust me I was once a pizza chain store manager. Homemade crust, and the cheese is ground on the spot to each order. The sauce is homemade and very good , you do not seem to get enough sauce unless you ask for it; for my tastes the excellent tasting homade pizza sauce has a little too much garlic.
Great steaks and upsacle burgers as well.
