The catfish here is unlike any I've tasted-fresh, perfectly prepared, and paired beautifully with moist jalapeño hush puppies and tangy vinegar slaw. The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious, with friendly waitstaff who move tirelessly to keep everyone smiling despite the slow pace of the kitchen. Though it's only open a couple of days a week and seating can be hard to find, every bite makes the wait worthwhile, especially for those craving genuine Tennessee River catfish.

You've got to try the catfish here; it's seriously the best I've ever had! The jalapeño hush puppies are super moist, the service is friendly, and even though it can get busy, the wait is totally worth it.

We live in Shelbyville, TN. We heard about the Rivershack and drove the two hours to experience it for ourselves. We found our new favorite fish restaurant. We try to come at least once a month. ABSOLUTELY the best catfish we have ever had. Never got a piece of fish that tasty muddy. We are very sold on this restaurant.
