We'd been to the one in Oldsmar several years ago, and just didn't care for it. I happened to get caught at the light on Keene and thought, why not?

Man, what a pleasant surprise!

From the reception desk, to the waiter, to the musician, everyone was top flight.

The food was excellent. It came out quickly and was well prepared.
I had the seafood Lafitte, and the shrimp.bisque. Both were delicious!

The live music was an added treat.
And even though it's summer, the outside seating was very comfortable with the covered tables and large fans.

Overall I found the portion size for the price to be more than adequate.

Unfortunately, I had to give them 4 out of 5 stars for a couple of reasons.

1) The location. The traffic noise noise and some of the obnoxious drivers were overly annoying. Of course it'd be nicer if it were on the water, but it is what it is. Just the same, they did an admirable job of bringing the island vibe.

2) The large black flies that kept buzzing the table and the food. Please look into some devices to rid the area of these pesky insects.

I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back and try some of the other featured entrees.
