What a shame. For several years it has been a favorite with my girlfriend and me, but no longer, I'm afraid. Although the quality of the food is very high still and the service is quite good as always. The clientele has taken a downward spiral. So much so that, we will never return. We were seated next of a table of ten adults. Before we had finished our appetizer, what had been
merely uncomfortably loud, became a group of unruly drunken men and yelling women. The restaurant manager and later, her assistant manager visited the table and explained that the restaurant had rules about loud noise. They were totally ignored. Looking at nearby tables, it was clear that other diners were equally disturbed by the crude and thug like demonstration of rude, loud and obnoxious behavior on display. When their check was presented, there was much contention as to who ate and drank what and how much. They demanded separate checks at that point and when presented with what they had requested, became indignant at the individual totals from the "third rate restaurant".....and they got louder. An assistant manager appeared presumably to get the bills paid and then just disappeared. The "diners" rose, each with their take home boxes and were soon out of sight. No cash was exchanged, no credit card receipts signed. The assistant manager did have one of their driver's licenses at some point which was returned, but that was it. I don't think any of them paid a nickel. I'm guessing they were offered a free tab to decamp or a certain conversation with the Baltimore County Police Department. I paid $150.00 with tip for an excellent dinner and drinks for two. Before we had risen to leave, the diners at two nearby tables were tuning up and behaving no better than the drunks that had just left. Charming evening all told, we won't be returning to Stoney River Steak House in Towsontown Mall. But if you enjoy a whiff of weed in the evening, you'll find the parking lot quite nice.
