My best friend from Portland surprised me by ordering tamales from El Paso Hot Tamales for my birthday, and they were absolutely delicious-just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. I've been a fan of their gorditas since middle school, and even now at 30, I can't get enough of their tasty, reasonably priced Mexican food with friendly service. While the tamales might not be for everyone, their lunch specials and other menu items like enchiladas and burritos are consistently great, making this a humble spot I'm happy to support.
