Ordered 4 chicken fried steak lunches. We were told each came with 2 sides. When we picked up we were told price that was $26 more than expected. Each lunch was $5 more than online menu price. And $6 had been added because it was a pick up order. After paying $26 more than expected $100 payment no change brought out so we ended up giving a large tip. Already angry over the price then got home and the chicken fried steaks were not good and pinto beans were so salty we could not eat. Very bad experience.

My husband & I always stop for lunch going to Houston from Dallas, and we stop on our way home. Last Fri on our way to Houston, we stopped for lunch hoping to eat the delicious chicken & dressing. My sister was with us. I had bragged so much about the food, so we were all looking forward to our lunch. What happened??? The dressing didn’t look or taste like dressing and I got no chicken on my dressing. I asked for more gravy hoping to improve the taste of the food. The gravy was so odd—gravy with nothing but chopped up boiled eggs. It didn’t help the taste of the dressing. The fried zucchini wasn’t crisp or crunchy but it was limp and mushy. The greens looked and tasted like they came straight from a can. The peanutbutter pie looked good but didn’t taste that good. The topping was good but the filling tasted like a huge glob of peanut butter. The only thing that was good were the fried green tomatoes. I was so disappointed and embarrassed after bragging to my sister. She wasn’t impressed with her meal. On the way home, I told her to decide where to eat since the Farmhouse lunch was a disaster. We did eat in Huntsville at a different restaurant. The only explanation I can think of for the drastic change in the taste of the food is that the ownership must have changed along with the recipes. When planning our trips, we always left on Fri or came home on Fri to get the dressing. Guess we can leave on any day now since eating at the Farmhouse isn’t a priority. Wish we could come back but if the food tastes the same, i don’t want to waste our money.
