House on the Hill offers a beautiful venue with ample space for family to stay and enjoy. The owners are easy to work with, providing a relaxed atmosphere for events. The gorgeous view from the top adds to the charm of the location.

My husband and I just got married here last weekend. It was beautiful until a bunch of my family and friends got what we thought at first was poison ivy but turned out to be chigger bites from hell. When we first toured the site we expressed our concerns about bugs because we wanted to have dinner al fresco. I asked the manager about the type of bug spray I should supply for my guests. She assured us that they did not have a bug problem and no spray was needed. Had I known the severity of the chigger problem I would have had all my guests use deet. For some reason the men got it the worst. My father, my father-in-law, two of my uncles, and my nephew who is only 3 are just some of the chigger victims that required medical attention. My dad is quite literally up to his butt in chigger bites. He has been to the doctor twice and is on his third medication. The bites are large, red, oozing and swollen. I have never seen anything like it before. Pandora the owner is slow to respond to complaints. The fridge broke on our first night there. We had a hard time getting a hold of her on the emergency phone #. When I finally got a hold of her she was reluctant to believe it was actually broken. We had to practically beg her to come and take a look at it before the wedding cakes arrived. When she showed up the next day she had someone fix it but that was after we went out and over my wedding budget buying extra ice bins and ice to store all the special food we brought for the festivities. Also, the drains in the bathrooms were very slow, the kitchen sink sprayer was broken, the pool was dirty and the bathrooms smelled. We had to re-clean everything because it did not meet our standards. There were nails sticking out everywhere. My brother had to go around with a hammer so people would not get caught on them. Over all House on the Hill is a lot of money for what you get: itchy oozing blisters, hard labor, broken appliances and unexpected costs.
