While staying overnight at Anthony's KOA we inquired about good Mexican food near by, and were referred to Rose Garden Restaurant. On our way in we noticed two fire engines, and seeing a big table of local firefighters, knew we had scored a home run! Our meal began with chips and fresh, spicy blended salsa. A light soup soon followed. We shared chunky guacamole and a giant Mexican style shrimp cocktail as appetizers. For the entree we ordered machaca taco combination plates, and this restaurant served a baked potato rather than rice.
We came back for breakfast the next day and thoroughly enjoyed Huevos Rancheros in green sauce, and Steak Chilaquiles. It was no surprise to see local police officers sharing a delicious home style meal. We highly recommend this cozy spot, it is obviously a local favorite!

Ive been a faithful customer since trying their enchiladas, a definite must. I have also tried other items and was just as pleased. Their portions are very generous and are complimented by chips and salsa. They also have family packages including gorditas, deshebrada tacos, flautas and enchiladas. For breakfast tomorrow, we're ordering huevos rancheros. Yum!!!
