The entire family from Rehoboth thought it would be nice to have a good Italian meal so we all drove to Lombardi's at 94th Street. We have eaten there many times before and were prepared for a wait. We were told about a 45 minutes which is normal for a Saturday night.
After an hour we inquired about the wait and the hostess lost our name on the list. 3 large parties the same size as ours were all seated before us even though they arrived well after us. The hostess insisted on blaming my 80 year old parents for the mix up. The hostess berated my parents in front of all the people waiting. Instead of just admitting they lost our name or made a mistake they continued to say they called our name 3 times and no one came forward. We sat on the bench at the front enterance for one hour and no one in our party of 8 heard our name called. It got worst once we got seated as the waitress heard our situation and yelled at our table that it was our fault and what do you expect for a Saturday night. My comment is that if this is nornal behavior for a Saturday night then this is definitely not the place for us. The owner did come over to apologize at our request but he explained that he has been in the business for 35 years and basically blamed the entire mix up on us. I do not know what happened to the customer is always right but we difinitely did not expect to be yelled at by the hostess and the waitress. We have been coming here for 30 + years and really can not believe how we were treated. We definitely will not be returning to this restaurant. There are just simply too many good restaurants in OC to tolerate this behavior.
