We were there a week ago. This was not our first time there. We had always looked forward to going back. It seems it will be our last.
My wife and I had dinner at Seven Martini Bar. The food was mostly good and we enjoyed our dinner for the most part, but one particular event disapointed us and the way the server and the management has handled it has only made it worse. There was a rock in the spring roll that my wife ate. She did not realize it until she bit into it. Fortunately she was not hurt. We brought to our server's attention, she touched the rock and took away the plate with no apology and other than what I just described, no response at all. We were shocked. We waited all night for some type of response or apology, but nothing. We responded by deducting the cost of the spring rolls from her tip.
A few days later I contacted the manager. Her response was she would pull the ticket and talk to the server and get back to me. She seemed to want to blow me off because I am not from the area. I tried to follow up a few times, but was told they were too busy.
Finally, I talked to the manager today and she said she looked at the ticket and talked to the server and the only thing she could do is send us a check for $3.00. I told her not to bother.
What she doesn't understand is that my wife and I are customers and we received poor service and we are not an inconvenience. What ever happened to a sincere apology? If the server would have apologized when the rock was brought to her attention, we would have been ok with the situation. If the manager even attempted to apologize and treat us with respect instead of an inconvenience, we'd would have been ok. Instead, they treat us like we are wasting their time.
People are injured by rocks in their food every day. Truly sad that a restaurant thinks it is better to ignore than apologize and give good service.
It's not just food that makes a restaurant great, it's also service, and this place misses the mark in both areas.
