I live in Lafayette, but make many trips to visit my Mother in Evangeline. My mother (90 yrs old), and my two grown daughters & myself decided to eat at mike's before seeing a play at the Strand. We arrived at 11:45AM. My youngest ordered a club sandwich. The rest of us ordered Shrimp dinners. When we were served, the server told my daughter the club was not ready. Finally after 15 minutes the club arrived with another tea for me. The server slipped and spilled most of the tea on me and the club got wet & some went on the floor. The server apologized and said she would get another one. 30 minutes later it arrived and we were all finished eating., so we ordered a go box. The floor still had the spilled tea & pieces of meat, tomatoes etc after we were done. It had never been cleaned up. The waitress offered us a free dessert (whoopee) for the "inconvenience". We declined because it was 1:30 and the play was at 2. When we checked out they adjusted our bill by subtracting $5.00. Whoopee again. I asked to speak to the manager and was told there was none on the premises. No way to run a business on a busy Sunday. Needless to say, even though the food was tolerable, adios Mike's. While I'm venting, I ordered potato salad as a side & it never arrived. I had a sweet tea and when I asked for a refill our server told us they had no more sweet tea, but I could just add sugar. This is the one that was spilled on me. I paid with an AMEX card & you can verify this disaster of a lunch experience.
