On Valentine's Day at 11 a.m. my husband and I went to get a take-out breakfast at Mimi's. The signage was so "invisible" we drove past it twice before we finally say the restaurant's name on the side of it. It was a gorgeous setting for maybe a romantic tete-a-tete. We ordered eggs benedict for take out and they said yes, they make that. The waitress was wonderful and even gave us extra large orange juice for the price of small, because the price of the meal had just been increased and we were not prepared for that, so we put it on our charge card. She brought it out in a big sack and I carefully carried it to the car. The drinks fell out of the drink holder in our attempt to get the orange juices out of the bag, and we wish they had just given those to us separately,NOT in the stupid bag! We opened the eggs benedict, and instead of nice Canadian bacon slices, the eggs were plopped on top of big 3/8" slabs of ham...eeks! The sauce was curdled and greasy. I ate 1/2 of my serving and was so grossed out, I couldn't even eat the rest. It was like something you'd feed to a lumberjack, and so greasy! There were all these fried potatoes to go with it, and it took me hours to get them all down. I might go back someday, if I have to, for someone's party, but otherwise, no more Mimi's for me!
