My heart ached as we arrived at the closed restaurant, hoping for my favorite old school yellow corn crunchy tacos. After my fiancé spoke with the owner and learned of his wife's passing, my heart went out to their family, reminding me of my own loss last year. Despite the sadness, I bookmarked Carlito's for a future visit, appreciating the simple pleasures in life and the warmth of supporting a small local business.
