This family-owned diner offers quick, friendly service even during busy times, with tasty food that many find enjoyable, especially on Taco Tuesday. It can get noisy and crowded, particularly near the bar area with loud pinball machines, but the affordable drinks and convenient location next to a Tesla supercharger make it a popular choice for families and travelers.

We get the Chicken Fried Steak dinner! It is totally delicious! Delicious meat , potatoes, salad , veggies and Texas toast! Really great! We love it ! We are new to Jackson, from Iowa, and will go back to Mel's many times. Thank you!

I've been going to Mel's dinner since I was 2 years old and now I'm 43 and their fresh banana milkshakes are just to die for. The rest of their food is pretty scrumptious too though.
