I called this restaurant today on Mother’s Day to determine whether they had openings or what the possibility of eating there was. I informed them that I wanted to sit on the deck with a party of two. I was told that it was first come first serve, but it looked like I would be able to do that. Upon arrival, there were three tables open on the deck. I was told that I could not sit there, because I was involved in a party of two, and they were saving them only for parties of four. This was about 3 o’clock and the restaurant wasn’t anywhere near capacity. There were no reservations for these tables. I told the person seating people that I came there on a regular basis, and would probably not come back based on this experience. She did not apologize, but did say “well you don’t have to come back”. this is an absolutely horrible way to treat a regular customer or to treat any customer for that matter.

Service was fairly slow. Made us wait hour and a half because it’s only two

Have eaten here many times. Dinner menue and wait staff are usually great. First time I've been for brunch. Food was cold. Waiter refused take my order without using my phone. Had question about menu but who are you gonna ask, your phone? Wait staff seemed confused. Had to keep hunting down different people just to get coffee refill.
What a shame have eaten here about once a month for years.

This restaurant has it all!
After traveling the scenic route of route 5, you are greeted by the refreshing air coming off of the Chickahominy River. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a very nice hostess. He gave us our seating options, after choosing riverside dining, he walked us to our table.

We got settled into a nice table on the lawn and watched as a local artist set up to play live music. Talk about good vibes!! We were promptly greeted by our server and she brought waters with her. We ordered cocktails. I started with a strawberry pineaple mojito and it was very refreshing. As busy as they were, you could tell the bartender took time to really muddle a shake a great mojito. My husband and I started our dinner off with a 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp, continued on with small wedge salads, and then move onto entrees. I ordered the mahi tacos, which were amazing and satisfying with every bite. My husband ordered the seafood platted and asked for it broiled, and he was very happy.

We finished our night off with a dessert cocktail and the brownie sundae. The server did a great job keeping our table clutter free despite the fact that she was very busy. We noticed that management was fully involved and made sure guest around the restaurant were happy and took care of their needs as well. Talk about a team effort! We highly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back!
