El Barrio, a charming market and taqueria located near Teocalli Tamale, offers a diverse selection of Latin American products at the front of the store, including a notable cheese assortment. The real excitement, in my view, lies in the back where you can savor delectable tacos, burritos, pupusas, and tortas. The staff exudes warmth and is always accommodating, even as I stumble through ordering in Spanish. One dish I particularly relish is the steak burrito, generously filled with succulent steak, melted cheese, and served alongside flavorful buttery rice and a slice of creamy avocado, making it a standout option in a Herndon strip mall.
