I've stayed at the English Inn in Charlottesville several times, and the comfy rooms, friendly staff, and delicious full English breakfast always make me feel right at home. The cozy lobby with its medieval vibe and 24/7 coffee, along with thoughtful touches like freshly baked cookies, really add to the charm. Even when minor issues popped up, the staff were super responsive and accommodating, which made my stays all the more enjoyable.
