This restaurant is one of those hidden treasures that you want to share with your friends, especially since I've been enjoying their amazing food for over 40 years. The owners are super welcoming, and every meal, from the shrimp cocktail to the Old Towne chicken, is a guaranteed hit, making it a must-visit whenever I'm back in Fredericksburg.

Just ate at the Steak and Sea for the first time. I had a NY strip and it was delicious! Bread came out hot with the salad and even the baked potato was awesome. The steak and potato were nice and hot through my entire meal! Great restaurant!!

Shrimp cocktail was fantastic!! Iceberg lettuce salad with blue cheese dressing with more dill than cheese. Quiet a surprise. Gorgeous cuts of meats, but the seasoning overpowered the meat. My prime rib looked mouth watering, but the au jus sauce tasted like a box of salt had accidentally fell in, and l love salt. Don't mind paying more for a good meal, but in this instance we paid more for a bad meal. Staff was unapologetic, said that sometimes they get carried away with seasons. Wish l had been carried away before the check came.

What a total disgrace this place is...a bad restaurant in fine dining guise. Horrible atmosphere, with awful loud music. Horrific food, a Rude oblivious owner, a street cook with no formal chef training ( which was obvious from the cheese covered mushrooms with a bit of crab meat underneath, I think), frozen shrimp that were way past their sell by date, flavorless scallops and improperly prepared lobster (broiled with the membrane still attached to the meat, and piggybacked). My wife's "Prime Rib" was a tomahawk steak...a cheaper cut...but sold as Prime Rib. The worst part was the unapologetic owner, hidden behind her mask saying "sorry about that"...with her excuse of being there for 35 years. The restroom was disgusting, I've seen better and cleaner at a truck stop. All this at a "FINE DINING" establishment! Our bill for two was $147. not including tip. I have NO IDEA of the great reviews by "Local Guides"...akin to Crooked Politicians. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Oh and by the way...this was my 60th birthday meal...PITIFUL!
