In July 1962, my father and I left a 34-foot labstreak yawl at the bottom of Sakonnet Point harbor, causing distress to the harbor master who couldn't persuade us back aboard before it sank. The location offers privacy, quiet, and exclusivity, making it the best in the area for a visit, whether arriving by boat or not. It's time for a last visit of the season to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the surroundings at the point.
