Great food and fast service

Since it was sold it has really gone down hill. I've been going to DOBIE'S for so many years and never had a bad meal. Seafood was great and steaks the best on the South Side. I think I started going there about 40 or more years ago. Different ownership from time to time but always great food. Since this last new owner took over it seems to have gone to hell. Now the large filet is smaller than the petite filet with the past owners. Always loved the meatballs on the lazy susan but now they are half the size. This was right after they reopened. Waited a few weeks after this to give them a chance to iron things out and was still very disappointed again. Will not be going back.

What a complete disappointment. First are salads were old. My baked potato would be fine if I were a 3year old, my wife’s garlic mashed must have been served with an ice cream scoop because it was very small. Then we get our steak sandwiches. On what looks to be a hamburger bun with nothing on it . No onions or mushrooms. We waited over 35 minutes for this cold miserable meal. We still tipped 20% because it’s not the waitress fault.Just a bad experience. I should have known better when we were the only customers at 5 o’clock

Reservation at 5 out of liver and onion. $1 for hash browns, way over done! Bring back the old Dobies

Took our grandsons to Dobies last night. What a disappointment. Ordered large filets and they were mini filets. Baked potatoes were the size of a golf ball. No air conditioning. Prices were the same but portions much smaller. Too bad, always enjoyed going there. We were embarrassed in front of grandsons after telling them what a great meal they could expect. New ownership not good.

Best steak place on the south side. Never had a bad steak all the times i,ve been there.

We have been coming here for years. The lazy Susan is always great. I think there must be a new cook though. Two members of our party had overcooked meat. So overcooked it was almost inedible. A third person had pasta that was overcooked and the sauce was not good. This is the first time we all did not enjoy our meal.

This was our first time dining at Dobies, and we were very pleased.
Alyssa was our server and was pleasant and attentive.
The four of us all had the petite filet which was amazing, melted in our mouths.
Dinner starts out with a "lazy susan" consisting of a cucumber salad, pate, meatballs, corn relish, beets and a bean mixture.
Also served was a roll and cracker basket.
Dinner also included soup or salad.
If you havent given them a try - I recommend you do. You will be glad you did.

Horrible horrible horrible 40 dollar steak very fatty tasted like fish and the customer service was horrible they insisted I pay at least half the bill for this garbage I'm spreading the word do not go to this establishment you will be very disappointed don't waste your money
